Hi Karl,
you are using an old version. Try with the last 1.7.6 Community, probably it should be this error (from the changelog):
Version 1.7.6:
- Fixed an issue with exceptions management (call_user_func and variable passed by reference).
Consider that I have already released 1.7.8 Enterprise, so the 1.7.6 Community is already old and I will release the 1.7.8 Community ASAP.
